DTN COMMENTS: Cash cattle country remains fairly quiet at midday, with
just a few asking prices reported in parts of Texas at $238 to $240. Bids
remain very elusive. If the trend of the last several weeks holds,
significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Thursday and/or
Friday.

Beef cutouts are widely mixed at midday with select product higher than
choice (choice 392.00 -7.91, select 397.03 +2.53) with moderate box
movement (72.45 lds of choice cuts, 2.98 lds of select cuts, 3.33 lds of
trim, and 6.28 lds of ground). The choice/select spread is -5.03. Cattle
futures are mixed at this time on both live and feeder contracts.
